My computer died.  It died a horrible, file eating death.  It's death took everything with it.  The things I do have saved to floppy (yes, I still used my floppy disks; wish I still could) are gone.  The cheapest computer that met the standards I set didn't have a floppy drive and I didn't have the money for extra stuff that, according to the little twerp helping me, was "old and out dated *insert snooty voice here*".   I'm thanking God most of the stuff I did have saved I also printed out or based off my scribbles in my notebooks and composition books.  What's really lost are all my random idea and research documents, you know, those things that are like seventy five pages long per story and full of odd scenes that struck while I was working on the main story and bits of research I did while surfing the net.  I'm already working on recreating that from memory.  Some of it, anyway.  The research and character note files for each story are going to be a pain the recreate and some characters are probably going to have slight personality shifts because of that.  I never bothered to print all those out and kept those only on the 'puter so I didn't have to keep track of yet another disk.

But what I really need help with are my links.  I had this giant collection of links to sites I used for research when I was writing, random prompt generators, reference sites, everything.  I also had a huge collection of fic links.  So, if you have a favorite site you enjoy using for research or an author you like or favorite fics in the FF VIII, FFX, Firefly, Highlander, Harry Potter, Buffy/Angel, Law & Order, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Gundam Wing, Stargate, or crossovers involving at least one of those, maybe you could recommend one.  Please.  Pretty please with chocolate dipped biscotti on top?  I wish I could remember author names, but *shrugs* I'm drawing a complete blank on a number of them.  And the ones I do remember, I've already hunted them down.

Please?

If you're a Harry Potter fan in need of a funny, I have to recommend Once Upon a Freakin' Time.  It's keeping me sane with its funny as I put everything back together.
