: A Good Finish
I'm trying to avoid spoilers, so this all behind a cut. Though I don't think there's anything too book ruining in here...
I'm going to bed now. I hope you people enjoyed it as much as I did. Good night and sweet dreams.
ETA: The caffeine's slow in leaving my system so I'm checking out ffnet, just for giggles to see if there's any DH fic yet...I've already come across four, in two minutes, four separate stories based of chapter thirty three and six twin fics.

*Sleepy Babble Alert*
It was a good finish for the series. In my opinion, it's a good finish for the series. There were parts where I had to walk away and do some of my own writing because my muses visited (which is why I just got done) and there are other parts where I went "Haven't I read this before?! In fanfic?!" *cough* chapter thirty three *cough*. Overall, though, it was good.
You know, now that I'm thinking on it, a lot of the book felt like it had bits and pieces of the seventh year fics I've read since the sixth book came out...I'm not saying JKR reads our stuff, just that some authors can really get into this woman's head. The way she pulled those bits and pieces together was completely new for me, though.
A couple of random things. I like how Harry's question about the blank blank from book six comes back and it turns out Dumbledore hid his suspicions from Harry. I still think Dumbledore the elder is a jackass, just a more human one who has been shaped by his life (c. 33 makes him a bigger jackass than I thought possible; yes, I do feel sympathy for the main character of that chapter. You can snort in disbelief now. I did.). The next time I read, I'm so skipping the epilogue. It just doesn't add much to the story for me. I love Aberforth. I seriously love Aberforth. Parts of the end were a little cheesy, but I love that he wanted to get rid of the Almighty Plot Device. Seriously, that is how all plot devices should go. Peacefully into the night, never to be seen again. Ever. God please help my brain survive if I ever find a fic about that thing...
*End Sleepy Babble*
